Internationally acclaimed artist Les Levine is widely acknowledged as the founder of media art, having pioneered new categories such as disposable art, media sculpture and software art during the late 60s. For the Oakville Galleries exhibit of Levine’s work, Transmedia, we designed and produced a catalogue that draws on the artist’s experimentations with different forms of media. The catalogue incorporates several production techniques, each referencing aspects of Levine’s art, including reflective silver ink, plastic paper, a bellyband and tip-ins.
